2014 Is The Year of Radiant Orchid
Every year Pantone releases the Color of the Year along with their spring color report. In 2014, Radiant Orchid reigns supreme and soft pastels are seen arm-in-arm with vivid brights. A blooming mixed bouquet, travels abroad, and strong, confident women were the inspiration for Pantone's fresh, thoughtful new palette.
On the end of the palette are Placid Blue, the color of a perfect spring sky, Violet Tulip (a nod to tradditional romance) a subdued, blendable green that reminds us of Cape Cod and seaglass, especially when Sand and Paloma are added. Paired with their brighter, richer counterparts Radiant Orchid and Dazzling Blue, these pastels are thoroughly modern and add an eye-pleasing snap to any room.
To add drama and a young, vibrant feel, Cayenne, Freesia and Celosia Orange remind us of hot, spicy days under the sun. Sounds good right now, doesn't it?
