Second Try For Somerset House DC Condo Conversion?
In 2009, residents opposed to a proposed condo conversion of the Somerset House at 1801 16th Street NW (NE Corner of 16th and S Streets) won their battle against proponents of the plan. See the 2009 report by Washington City Paper.
Now, according to a coolDCre.com source, the conversion effort may be beginning again. Reportedly proposed for 1801 16th St NW is an 80 unit condo conversion of mostly studios and 1 BRs, with a total of five exterior parking spaces, to kick off within the next six months. If the proposal succeeds this time, units are likely to deliver during the spring of 2014.
Communications to Tenacity Group regarding a second attempt at a Somerset House condo conversion and a request to confirm or deny were not returned.
