North Parcel: Underground plumbing and footers (foundation) are underway and slab on grade began in September.  Walls have also been poured around the majority of the perimeter. 

South Parcel: Ground floor slab is nearing completion (garage “structure” is effectively in-place). Masonry is beginning at the garage levels and structural steel (the frame of the retail/giant) begins end of October.

Wet Utilities (IDAHO): Various obstacles and unforeseen conditions (ie: location of pipes to tie-into) encountered but developers are working to resolve and work continues. The phase of this work should run through Thanksgiving.

Earthwork: Generally speaking, mass excavation is complete (few minor exceptions based on sequencing). 

Townhouse Construction: Developers plan to begin work on the townhouses by January. The permit has been issued by DCRA.

The D.C. Court of Appeals has ruled that neighborhood objections to the proposed Cathedral Commons development are non-applicable, clearing the way for the project to begin.

In early December it was announced that Bozzuto Group and Southside Investment Partners LLC would be the development partners for the $125 million, mixed-use project featuring a redeveloped, 56,000-Square-Foot Giant Supermarket,  137 apartment units, 8 townhomes, 500+ parking spaces, and 128,000 square feet of retail space.  The project will sit on apprx. 4 acres on Wisconsin Ave. between Macomb Street and Idaho Ave. in Northwest  DC, bordering the Cathedral Heights and Cleveland Park neighborhoods.

Construction on Cathedral Commons began in the spring of 2013 and the supermarket  opening is scheduled for late 2013. Residentail is expected to deliver late 2014.

Jon, we do seem to have quite a few bulldozers and cranes in the city again these days. Yes, we're lucky to have done so well during the downturn. But I hear the news for FLA is getting better too.  Thanks---I designed it myself. The photo, ironically, is of a pawn shop on 14th Street in Logan. My little 2009 joke.  ; )
